Most of us will have used catnip at some point with our cats, and probably had a good laugh!
A cat’s catnip adventure starts almost instantly after the first smell. It is likely they’ll roll around the floor, chase the toy that is covered in catnip and even roll in the catnip itself. The effect of cat nip is short lived and harmless; It generally lasts up to 15 minutes, but with most cats it is more like 5-10 minutes.
Around 80% of cats will be affected by catnip, and most will play with the toy again if it is left out. On occasion, some cats may behave with a little aggression after catnip so it could mean your cat plays a bit rougher for a while after.
